The Victorian venue, filled with history and charm, Woodlands house is nested in two acres of gorgeous garden, It offers the perfect setting with accommodation, luxury, and romance for an unforgettable wedding.

The house will wow you with magnificent neo-gothic architecture, from the red carpet entrance, ideal for welcoming your guests in style and providing gorgeous photo opportunities for the bride and groom confetti rain exit after the ceremony. The cathedral-like main entrance hall with a majestic double-height ceiling, and a splendid array of colours from the medieval stained glass windows, one of which is illustrated with Robert the Bruce, who is believed to be the ancestor of the first owner of the manor.


The setting is impeccable for the splendid civil, or even better, wonderful humanist ceremonies in which many of the couples are choosing the beauty and tradition of the handfasting. We have countless photo opportunities both in and outside the building. Therefore, you are guaranteed to have a wonderful set of memorable photos even on a rainy day and regardless of the season. One of our main attractions is the romantic turret, for some jaw-dropping photos of couples with the surrounding landscape as the background.


The garden is a triumph of specimen trees, with flagrant, blossoming rhododendron, delightful wisteria and numerous flowers. The lush green garden will be the splendid background for memorable, fun wedding photos.

We are passionate about making your ideal wedding come true, and believe that each wedding is unique and deserves special touches, tailored for each couple. Our friendly wedding planner will be happy to assist you with everything you need. An in-house cake designer will be here to create the wedding cake of your dream and bespoke cupcakes that are fantastic as wedding favours. We work with a talented top team of local florists to offer different options. We have a very talented wedding makeup artist, with 20 years of experience, and also work with several top wedding hair stylists, all wizards of their trade. If you like to have bag-pipe playing on your special day, we can organise that too! These are purely optional, if you prefer to use your own florist, cake designer, or makeup artist, you are most welcome to do so.

A wedding at Woodlands house can be a combination of the ceremony, bridal breakfast, and evening party. We are here to make your wedding a success and promise to hold only one wedding at a time We offer room hire only as well as in-house catering depending on your requirements. For couples who get married in a church or already married, we can provide the garden for reception drinks, the banqueting hall for the bridal breakfast and the evening party in the main hall. Some couples may just like to have the reception and wedding ceremony only. We offer a range of various wedding packages, and are flexible and happy to assist you with your choice.

We are specialists in unique informal weddings. With over 7 years of experience in hosting weddings, the owners of Woodlands House believe the best form of bridal breakfast is an informal style without the table plans except for the head table. A self-service hot buffet is laid out in the conservatory and the guest can choose the table they like to share and sit with their families, relatives, friends, and peers. The provision of a hot buffet for the bridal breakfast has been our most successful choice, as this format allows the couples to spend time for the photo session at leisure, while the guests can be enjoying our delicious food. We aim to provide a happy, relaxed atmosphere, with guests eating and drinking when and with whom they want. We provide different in-house hot buffet options and are happy to talk you through various choices. You are guaranteed a relaxing, friendly, elegant atmosphere, combined with delicious fresh food, all locally sourced and top quality, enough to make your mouth water. Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. Our staff will control the flow of your guests to the buffet station and make the announcements for the speeches and cutting of the cake.

If you prefer to have a formal sit-down meal, you could organise your own catering company to serve you in our banqueting hall by choosing the room hire-only option.

Most couples and guests prefer to head to the dance floor soon after cutting the cake. We can provide a DJ with a wide experience in our hall which becomes a magical ballroom in the evening. It is large enough for cèilidh dancing if you fancy warming up your feet and setting the mood for a gorgeous Scottish night party.  We offer bar service until 1 am in the conservatory and organise kids' entertainment if required.

​The ceremony only can be chosen from three different time slots. 10-13, 14-17, and 18-21.

Room hire only for the Bridal Breakfast can be chosen from two different time slots. 14-17 and 18-21.

The cost is £750 for Friday and Saturday. £650 on other days.

The evening party can be between 18-1.

The cost is £750 for Friday and Saturday. £650 on other days.

The ceremony and Bridal breakfast room hire can be chosen from 10-17 and 14-21.

The cost is £1,250 for Friday and Saturday. £1,100 on other days.

The ceremony,  Bridal Breakfast room hire, and Evening party are booked between  11-1 

The cost is £1,800 for Friday and Saturday. £1,600 on other days.

The self-service Hot buffet starts from £59.95 per head for between 30-60 people.  The minimum number is 10 and there is a surcharge of £20 per head for numbers less than 30. The maximum number of guests for the bridal breakfast is 60 and 100 for the evening party.

Reception drinks on arrival  £4.95 (a selection of drinks including soft drinks, Pimms, Buck's fizz, and Red/White wine)

3 x canapes per guest £8.95 additional canape is £2.95 each

Evening buffet per guest, from £12.45 for 5 items

Champagne reception £15.95 (2 glasses p.p.)

Prosecco reception £9.95 (2 glasses p.p.)

Bridal breakfast drinks £21.45 (a half bottle of red or white wine and a glass of champagne for the toasts.)

There is 10% off the price of the guest bedrooms for the guests who wish to stay the night before or after the wedding.

All the prices are inclusive of VAT. The prices may differ depending on the season.
