If you stay with us without a car or prefer to drive something different, it is not a problem as you could hire one of our cars for the tours. If you like to drive your own car, we can provide you the routes and support.

The self-drive tours offered at Woodlands House are the best way to explore the scenic Scottish borders and nearby places. The borders' roads are famous for being amazingly beautiful, scenic, and excellent to drive for those who are fond of driving. There are seven specially chosen epic routes which are all within 200 miles and easily manageable as day trips.

We provide a selection of cars for different driving experiences. On glorious sunny Scottish days, Mini Cooper S convertible is ideal for up to 4 adults. BMW X5 is well suited for all weather driving for up to 5 adults. These are easy cars for anyone to jump in and drive. Also, they are economical options as the daily hire price is at £108.

Price starts from £253 for two adults per day staying in a double/twin room including VAT, breakfast, and car hire (X5 or Mini). Driving your own car, self-drive routes and support can be provided at £36 per day.
